We make progress towards any long term goal, be it career, business or personal, by moving forwards at various speeds depending on the challenges we face.
However, it is also true that of all my achievements, the most successful ones have been those that I planned in reverse!
Define the goal then plan in reverse.
Let's say you want to achieve something in a year's time. Start from the goal and keep asking yourself "To be there by then, where do I have to be a month before that?"
Define the goal and then work backwards to define the most realistic and effective plan!
